LUSH LIPS: TIPS, TRICKS AND TOOLS FOR THE PERFECT POUT

As many of you have probably noticed full lips are all the rage – I am not sure if it was before or after Kylie Jenner took over the lip world, but regardless this look is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Lip injections are one of the top plastic surgeries women elect to get in order to achieve a perkier pout, but I am here to say this… leave the needles alone and find out the tips, tricks and tools you can use to get a lip lift! It’s no pain, all gain.
To get the full lip look you will need your favorite lip scrub, lip liner, personal contour shade, a clear lip plumping lip gloss or serum and concealer.
The Steps:
1. First take the lip scrub of your choice, apply to lips and make sure to scrub in circular motions. If you don’t have a lip scrub you can always make a DIY lip scrub using brown sugar and honey (1 tablespoon of each should be plenty). Make sure to do it for at least 30 mins to get some blood flow going on. This naturally enhances the lips and makes them look swollen because of the activity.
2. After you wash off your lip scrub apply a thin coat of clear lip plumping lip gloss or serum.Make sure it says lip plumping on the product – you should feel a tingly sensation which means it’s working! Once the plumping product is a little dry, run your foundation, using a brush, over your lips to mute any color.
3.With the lip liner of your choice –line just along the outer ridge of your lips. Make sure you are on the outer edge as opposed to right on the line, this is over lining a little bit but not going crazy.
4.Now fill in your lips using your liner and lipstick. Clean up and edges with a small brush and your foundation.
5. It’s time for shading! You are going to shade right under your lips using your contour foundation. This creates the illusion of a shadow beneath your bottom lip, making your lip appear larger. In my opinion this works better with cream foundation, but powder will also work.
If this all sounds like a lot of work to you there is a product that Cosmopolitan magazine recently wrote about, however the reality of the benefits are still being debated. The product is the Fullips Lip Enhancer ($20). Position the Fullips enhancer over your mouth and lip area, hold it in place while applying some pressure, and suck in short puffs of air until a solid suction is established. You should feel a gentle pulling — this is normal/what is supposed to be happening. Suction your lips in 15 to 30 second increments. Then use your finger to help break suction. Repeat step 3 until desired fullness is reached, and then apply your lip cosmetics as usual.
I hope this was helpful for my girls out there trying to get a fuller pout, but remember we are all beautiful and being unique is the best thing!
