FRIDAY’S POPSTYLE DIVA- NICKY FROM LA
Wat A Gwan Divas!!!!! Today’s PopStyle Diva comes to us from LA.
This Jamaican aspiring actress says “The thing I love the most about fashion and putting outfits together is modifying old/existing pieces to create a new look. For example, turning a dress into a skirt or a skirt into a top, or wearing the back to front, stuff like that. Simple changes that doesn’t always require the skill of a sewing machine, or better yet breaking the budget. Just channeling your creativity you’d be surprised to see what you can come up with!”
“Looks like a dress doesn’t it? Two pieces though. A tube jumper and a once dress turned skirt.”

“Sporting an old fave top, and these dressy cargo pants that I fell in love with the moment I laid eyes upon. And the pumps should be a closet staple.”

Her Bohemian kinda mood!

“This is an old dress that I modified to a one shoulder and got rid of the belt. It’s meant to be flowy and easy.”

“Soft and demure with a little bad girl, bold jewelry to make a bit of a statement.”

” The dark period. Feeling goth, feeling naughty, feeling carefree. Awwww.”

“It was a chilly day in LA so a perfect time to break out this biker jacket from H&M.”

“I love reversible tops or reversible anything, and this one has a beautiful and vibrant floral print on the reverse side (inset). I tucked in the front and pushed up the sleeves for a different look.”

A more demure Nicky. “In a quest to recreate old pieces, I’ve schlopped off the sleeve of this old top for a toned down black-tie look. And up goes the fro.”

“I shop everywhere. From yard sales to high-end shops. I don’t limit myself because good style isn’t about copying the trendiest looks, wearing the priciest pieces or wearing what fashion editors tell us to. I’m all for creating your own personal style. And let’s face it, who doesn’t want a good bargain these days.”

“It’s been unseasonably cool the last few days in LA, so I broke out the fuzzy sweater.”

WOW! Great styley sense Nicky!!!!! I love them all, you definitely march to the beat of your own drum. To see more of Nicky’s style sense visit her Facebook fan page!
