Jamaica Womens’ Outreach Annual Women’s Day Expo A Huge Success

The Jamaica Women’s Outreach Centre hosted their 2nd Annual Womens’ Day expo in honour of International Women’s Day which is celebrated on March 8th each year. The first National Woman’s Day was observed in the United States on 28 February, 1909. The Socialist Party of America designated this day in honour of the 1908 garment workers’ strike in New York, where women protested against working conditions. Since then, International Women’s Day has assumed a new global dimension for women in developed and developing countries worldwide.
